About

The Leichhardt Saints Senior Football Club is comprised of two teams playing in the top division of the Sydney Amateur League.

History

Leichhardt Senior Football Club commonly known as the Saints has competed in Sydney Amateur League since 1970.

The club began as part of the Police Boys Club and our junior teams originate from the Church competition playing under St Fiacres Leichhardt. This is where the saints title originates. In 1993, the soccer teams known as the Saints broke away from the Police Boys to create their own club known as the Leichhardt Saints FC.

In 2007 due to pressure from the Canterbury District Football Association the club divided itself up into 2 Associations. Teams playing in the Canterbury League play under the name Leichhardt Saints FC and our senior teams play in the Sydney Amateur League as Leichhardt SFC. Both still known as the ‘Saints’.

Leichhardt Saints is one of the longest standing clubs presently playing in the Sydney Amateur League and with such a long history our club prides itself on its achievements.

If you know some history about our club we would love to hear about. Please email us and we’ll be sure to add it.
